S.R. 5 to Close for Bridge and Culvert Construction

State Road 5

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of State Road 5 north of Huntington.

Starting on or after June 6, crews will begin a bridge replacement and culvert work between State Road 16 and W 800 N. Work is expected to be complete by the beginning of November. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During the closure, drivers should use the posted detour of State Road 114, State Road 9 and U.S. 24, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction free when travelling in and around all work zones.
