Russia, North Korea Declare Launching First Capitals’ Direct Flights
This will establish the inaugural air route linking the capitals of Russia and North Korea.
Nordwind Airlines is scheduled to operate one flight per month, with the journey duration estimated to be around eight hours.
This move comes after Rosaviatsiya recently authorized regular air traffic between the two nations.
The ministry stated, “This is the first time the capitals of Russia and the DPRK will be linked by direct flights,” emphasizing that the new service is intended to gradually create consistent demand.
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, noted that Moscow and Pyongyang are cooperating to enhance air connectivity, building on the recent resumption of railway services in June.
